In this episode, Roy Goodman shares his spiritual journey from Judaism to atheism. Roy’s views were shaped by the shadow of the Holocaust; the apartheid of South Africa, where he was born and grew up; and Israel, where he attended college.
Places stir Roy’s sense of awe at the universe and life, and he finds meaning in connection and relationship. Interestingly, Roy ascribes evil to a lack of connection — particularly when it springs from the belief that my truth is better than your truth.
